A Mixed Bag.

Satin Bowerbirds have been frequenting the garden, even pecking holes in the strawberry leaves. This plump bird obliged by posing for photos.

A miniature mossy garden.

Things are gradually starting to move in the invertebrate world with spiders showing up.

Nyssus coloripes.

A very small Servaea incana with a meal.

Two Tamopsis species mimicking their backgrounds.

And a tiny arachnid, no more than 2mm nose to tail.

The Eastern Spinebill.

Several of these beautiful birds have been resident in the garden during winter, it is not unusual to look out of the window and see three working over the big hybrid Grevillea. Despite the flowering Callistemon, Kunzea, other Grevilleas, and lots of Correas, this supplies the nectar of choice. A few minutes with the camera produced these snaps.
