A check of a wetland on a private property proved to be a good one, on the extensive mud flats there were many Red-capped Plovers, a few over wintering Red-necked Stints, and approximately one hundred and fifty Double-banded Plovers, over from New Zealand, and taking it easy on the far shore. Lacking a camera, no photos were taken, so another visit took place on the following day, to find the double-bandeds spread out over the wetland feeding. Conditions for photography were poor, with dull light and a cold wind, but some long range record shots were obtained.
