Patience was eventually rewarded after several pursuits.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/spring2\/moth.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/spring2\/mothbl.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"308\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Easier to find were the Taxeotis perlinearia, even though they blended in perfectly with dry eucalypt leaves.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/spring2\/taxeotis.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/spring2\/taxeotisbl.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"213\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A search for jumping spiders at two locations found Jotus auripes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/spring2\/jotus2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/spring2\/jotus2bl.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"208\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Prior to entering the bush some patches of Showy Parrot-pea, Dillwynia sericea had been noted beside the main road, and they needed to be checked out on the return journey for native bees. This activity can be seen in the last image if it is fully enlarged. The majority of the bees working were Lasioglossum calophyllae, but occasionally there was an Exoneura bicolor.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/spring2\/bee8.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/spring2\/bee8bl.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"372\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Back at base, after some days a check was made at the area of native grassland preserved at the local cemetery, where the flush of spring wildflowers is now getting under way.
