Common Brown butterflies though have appeared in profusion, as have Wandering Ringtail damselflies.<\/p>\n<p>Males.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix31\/ledam.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"516\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Female.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix31\/ledaf.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"365\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While photographing damselflies a very cooperative Tau Emerald landed close by.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix31\/tau.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"530\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The odd Admiral butterfly has been sighted, this worn individual was nectaring on River Bottlebrush, Callistemon sieberi.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix31\/admiral1.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"534\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Small spider hunting wasps subfamily Pepsinae have been roaming the tree trunks<br \/>\nin search of hard to come by prey.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix31\/wasp.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"499\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On an otherwise bare Yellow Gum trunk a true weevil, Aades cultratus saved the day.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix31\/aades.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"642\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The cool wet spring seems to have had a profound effect on insect populations in this area, with many of the regulars absent or in very small numbers.
