First a collection of little creatures found under a sheet of loose bark on a Yellow Gum, these are Psocids or booklice.<br \/>\nThanks M J S for id.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/bugs.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/bugsb.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"575\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are still a few quite small jumping spiders to be found, probably this season&#8217;s crop.<\/p>\n<p>Sandalodes superbus.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/jump1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/jump1b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"836\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/jump2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/jump2b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"656\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Opisthoncus? species.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/pjump1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/pjump1b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"713\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/pjump2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/pjump2b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"753\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are still some wasps on the prowl, this is a female White-spotted Ichneumonid, Echthromorpha intricatoria. She uses her ovipositor to inject eggs into pupae of moths and butterflies, particularly the admiral family.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/wasp.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/waspb.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"772\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A wasp mating pair, male and wingless female.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/wasppair.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/wasppairb.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"403\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A longicorn beetle that came to the moth light, Symphyletes nodusus.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/longicorn.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/longicornb.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"540\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And Phoracantha semipunctata, the Common Eucalypt Longhorn.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/long.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix26\/longb.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"422\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Click to enlarge.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With the weather cooling, insects and the like are getting harder to find in the bush garden, these are a few snapped over the last couple of weeks.
