Two species of Lasioglossum bees are busy collecting pollen, Subgenus Homalictus,<\/p>\n<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix18\/las1.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"735\" \/><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix18\/las3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix18\/las3b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"552\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and Subgenus Chilalictus.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix18\/lasio.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix18\/lasiob.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"546\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hoverflies are common and very numerous, but this solitary fly was much more interesting. It is a member of the Family Rhiniidae, Genus Stomorhina, and is commonly called a nose fly for obvious reasons. It is feeding hungrily on pollen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix18\/fly1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix18\/fly1b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"650\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix18\/fly2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix18\/fly2b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"773\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix18\/fly3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix18\/fly3b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"859\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Small Velvet Ants have been sighted walking up the red gums occasionally, and finally snapped. They are in the Family Mutillidae, Tribe Dasymutillini.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix18\/vant1.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"886\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Also on the red gums and quite numerous are these Darkling Beetles, Genus Amarygmus.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix18\/beetles.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/pix18\/beetlesb.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"832\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And with the warmer weather, more jumpers are starting to appear, this Helpis minitibunda was wandering around on the car bonnet.
