{"id":1585,"date":"2018-11-08T04:06:31","date_gmt":"2018-11-08T04:06:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bencruachan.org\/naturality\/?p=1585"},"modified":"2018-11-08T04:17:57","modified_gmt":"2018-11-08T04:17:57","slug":"half-an-hour-with-the-camera","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bencruachan.org\/naturality\/2018\/11\/08\/half-an-hour-with-the-camera\/","title":{"rendered":"Half an hour with the camera."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, again in the garden, and the first snap is of the forty two year old Grevillea wilsonii, just starting to produce this season&#8217;s flowers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/garden9\/wilsonii.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"1057\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Not far away is another south-westerner that has been very successful,\u00a0 Kunzea baxteri.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/garden9\/kunzea.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"802\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Avon River Bottlebrush\u00a0 is just starting to flower too, this rosy lilac Callistemon\u00a0 grows at The Channel in association with the normal C. pallidus, with apparently no intermediate forms.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/garden9\/avon.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"886\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The leaves of the big hybrid correa are popular sun bathing spots for a variety of insects.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/garden9\/wasp.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"430\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/garden9\/fly.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"513\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This plant is very popular with the Ellipsidion cockroach, juveniles are commonly seen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/garden9\/roach.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"403\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Yellow-banded Dart, Ocybadistes walkeri sothis is just starting to be seen flitting around.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/garden9\/dart.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"538\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As are robber flies.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/bencruachan.org\/naturality\/garden9\/robber.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"477\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A hover fly on the white Digger&#8217;s Speedwell, the larvae feed on aphids.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bencruachan.org\/naturality\/garden9\/hover.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"985\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Finally a potter wasp, family Eumeninae.
